 Recent News: Celebration of 61st Republic Day

Sainik School Nalanda was established with the primary aim of preparing boys, particularly of Bihar domicile academically, physically and mentally for entry into the National Defence Academy and the Naval Academy.  The School is a residential public school for boys functioning under the aegis of Sainik Schools Society, Ministry of Defence, Govt of India. 

The School inaugurated by Shri George Fernandes, the then Hon'ble Raksha Mantri came into existence on 12 Oct 2003 and has been functioning in Zila Parishad Inspection Bungalow at Rajgir in Nalanda District of Bihar.

Mauryans have made their presence felt at the National Level

Though, the School is only 5 years old, made its presence felt not only at State level but also at the National level by producing the best results in the All India Secondary School Examination 2008.  The School topped among all the Sainik Schools in the country in the Class X CBSE Board Exams as well as slotted for the coveted "Merit Certificate Award" presented by the Ministry of Defence, Govt of India for the best Academic Performance in the AISSE for the Year 2007 - 08.

The School  has also bagged the "General Officer Commanding, Madhya Bharat Area Best Sainik School Trophy" for the Year 2007 - 08 for the best all round performance in the first year of institution of the trophy.

The School  also is the winner of Inter Sainik Schools National Level Volleyball Championship 2008 - 09.
